Merchandiser - fashion
Description
We have an exciting new role for an Import Merchandiser to join a large successful fashion company, woking with cusotmers including Whistles, Jigsaw, Barbour and many more.
The role will involve:
* Process purchase orders
* Place P/O with the factory ensure instructions and details are clear and precise
* Manage the critical path, ensuring the customer is updated regularly
* Arrange labels and packaging to arrive at the factory timely for production
* Arrange required samples: SMS, photoshoot, pre-production, pre-shipment
* Create PPRA / Customer workbook and request relevant testing of the products
* Check lab dip submissions and submit for approval
* Arrange import freight if required, and liaise with factories and the freight forwarders to utilise container space efficiently
* Arrange customer online booking if they are FOB
* Process invoices of the bulk goods
* Assist the account manager with development samples
* Attend customer meetings face to face or on line, take detailed notes and action samples
* Liaise with the factories in China daily to monitor production status
* Check and authorise related purchase invoices (labels, testing, samples, finished goods and any other possible additional costs incurred)
* Read and absorb customer manuals
The candidate is to fit in well with our merchandise team and be able to work well on their own or as a part of a group.
They need to have the ability to make commercial decisions when faced with production challenges.
Must be good at multi-tasking and prioritising their work load accordingly.
Be organised, thorough and efficient in all tasks.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience is required
Technical background / knowledge is an advantage (not essential)
Fantastic hours and 1pm finish on Fridays!
