Description
We have an exciting new senior level buying role in which the Senior Buyer will lead the development for all product areas in catalogue ranges on own brand, customer specific product across consumer goods/home lighting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior level established buyer across consumer goods, homewares, fashion or accessories.
The roe will involve:
- Full product ownership from initial concept, through development of the design with the factories/Far East team, liaising closely with QC/QA to ensure all country specific regulations for the new product are met.
- Liaise with designers and factories to ensure accurate and concise product briefing, correct specification and price architecture to allow fast and efficient development while maximising sales and profits for the business, whilst managing development budgets and KPIs
- Extensive market research and competitor analysis to ensure our product offerings are comprehensive, cost efficient and on-trend.
- Working both independently and with supply chain management, to develop and foster good relationships with factories and suppliers via regular meetings and visits.
- Source new factories and suppliers and manage the supplier set-up and initial auditing process to ensure that they meet the technical and ethical needs of the business.
- Develop and manage Supplier relationships through regular review meetings, in conjunction with the Supply Chain Team.
- Attend trade shows and industry events both at home and overseas to stay ahead of the game in terms of future trends and innovations.
- Attend customer meetings as required by the various sales teams within the business to take product briefings where necessary and to help guide the relevant account manager’s presentations on new developments.
- Visit customers to take product briefings and trend presentations as and when required.
- Regular overseas travel to the Far East and Europe to manage supply base, source new factories and develop new business.
- Regular liaison with the UK and International sales teams to ensure the product offering meets their needs and expectations and use their “feet on the ground” knowledge to identify any gaps in and opportunities for new product.
- Working to the company’s critical path structure and liaising with other departments to ensure smooth introduction of new products.
- Liaise with Marketing & Merchandising teams to ensure accurate capture of required information for exhibitions, catalogues, mail shots etc.
- Providing continual support to the Directors .
- Training and mentoring the other members of the Buying Team
